Kia has redesigned the Seltos for 2027. The new model is larger, more spacious, and packed with technology that used to be reserved for vehicles a class or two higher. If you've been waiting for a subcompact SUV that doesn't feel like a compromise, this is it.
The second-generation Seltos debuts with three powertrain options - including a new Seltos Hybrid with available e-AWD. The cabin is roomier in every direction, the tech suite includes nearly 30 inches of combined digital displays, and the safety roster competes with midsize SUVs.
The 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine powers the LX, EX, and EX Premium trims. It pairs with Kia's Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) for smooth, efficient daily driving - ideal for buyers prioritizing fuel efficiency and city maneuverability.
The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine is exclusive to the X-Line and X-Line Limited trims. It produces 190 hp and routes power through an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual control, delivering sharper throttle response and confident highway passing power.
The 1.6-litre hybrid powertrain is new for 2027. It pairs with a 6-speed dual clutch transmission and is available in both front-wheel drive and e-AWD configurations. The e-AWD system provides on-demand all-wheel traction without the fuel economy penalty of traditional mechanical AWD. The hybrid is expected to arrive in Canada by the end of 2026, with official fuel economy figures announced closer to launch.
The 2027 Seltos is longer, taller, and wider than the previous generation. The wheelbase stretches 60 mm longer, translating to 25 mm more rear legroom and 25 mm more rear headroom.
Cargo capacity improves significantly: 1,817 litres behind the first row with rear seats folded, and 786 litres behind the second row - enough for camping gear, hockey bags, or a Costco run without Tetris-level packing.
The new two-step foldable luggage board (available on select trims) creates hidden storage and a flat load floor when rear seats are folded. Kia's Add Gear cargo organization system comes standard, with modular dividers and tie-down points to secure loose items.
The 2027 Seltos features a standard 12.3-inch digital touchscreen. Select trims add a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display and a 5-inch climate control panel - nearly 30 inches total, matching the larger EV9.
The system runs Kia's latest ccNC infotainment platform, supporting Over-the-Air updates for software improvements and new features without dealership visits. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is available across the trim lineup.
Charging infrastructure includes three front USB-C ports (one media, two charging) and two rear USB-C ports integrated into first-row seatbacks.

Inside, X-Line trims feature monotone black interiors with SynTex upholstery, mesh headrests, and standard four-way lumbar support. The X-Line Limited adds front Relaxation Seats with recline and refined footrest for long-distance comfort.
LX: Entry point with 2.0-litre engine, IVT transmission, 16-inch alloy wheels, and full safety technology suite.
EX: Adds 18-inch alloy wheels and more convenience features with the 2.0-litre engine.
EX Premium: Top-tier 2.0-litre trim with 18-inch wheels and additional premium content.
X-Line: Sport-focused trim with 1.6-litre turbocharged engine (190 hp), 8-speed automatic, 19-inch black wheels, monotone black interior, SynTex upholstery, and four-way lumbar support.
X-Line Limited: Top turbocharged trim adding Relaxation Seats while retaining the 190 hp engine, 8-speed automatic, and 19-inch black wheels.
HEV (Hybrid): Available with 1.6-litre hybrid engine and 6-speed dual clutch transmission. Front-wheel drive improves efficiency while available e-AWD provides on-demand all-wheel capability. Expected in Canada by end of 2026.
